HOW TO WRITE A SCRIPT EVENTDIRECTOR CAN USE =========================================== The more of these your script spells out, the more complete your imported run of show. Build them in at the script stage — for EACH moment of the show, include: 1. SECTION — group the show into blocks, each with a target clock time and rough length (PRE-SHOW, WELCOME, KEYNOTE, AWARDS, CLOSE...) 2. TITLE — a short name for the moment ("Opening VT", "Host Walk-On", "Award 1") 3. TEAM / TYPE — who runs it: Video / Lights (LX) / Sound / Stage — or the kind: VT, VO, mic, look List several ("Host + Sound + Lights") for a grouped call — all get one standby, all fire on one GO. 4. DURATION — how long it runs (m:ss); write "open" for a keynote or Q&A that runs to schedule 5. THE WORDS — if someone speaks, write the actual lines: the VO copy, the host spiel, the announcement, the award citation. Write them out — don't just say "host talks". 6. MUSIC — name the track or style when there is one ("house music", "award sting", "walk-on") 7. TRIGGER — what cues it: "on applause", "after VT", "host reaches lectern", "on final bow" STANDBY / GO calls — two ways, mix them freely: - Leave them out and EventDirector builds them from the Team (Team: Sound -> "Standby Sound / Sound, GO"). - OR write them in with "Standby:" and "GO:" lines and your exact wording is used verbatim. Handy when the writer is also the director — the calls you want are baked into the script. You can do this per cue: spell out the ones that matter, let the routine ones fill themselves. TIP — make the directions stand out: wrap a label so it's easy to spot among the spoken lines. *Music:* upbeat track **GO:** Video 3, GO _Team_: Sound These read exactly the same as Music: / GO: / Team: — the asterisks/underscores are just for the eye. Two ways to use it: A) Paste this labelled script straight into Script Import and press Parse — it imports directly. B) For a richer pass, copy the EventDirector prompt, run it through ChatGPT, paste the result back.
